Every score on this site comes from distances and ratios between 478 landmarks detected on your face. Here is how that works, and where it stops.
Subjectivity vs. Objectivity
"Beauty is subjective. Facial geometry is not. Our tests measure proportions and symmetry from your photo and report them as numbers. They describe your geometry, not your worth."
What we measure
Face shape
Face shape is classified from the width of the forehead, cheekbones and jaw against the length of the face. Each result comes with a confidence figure, because many faces sit between two shapes. A single front photo cannot measure depth, so we do not claim to.
Geometric Symmetry
We compare matching points on the left and right sides of your face against the vertical midline and report the average deviation as a percentage. Head tilt is corrected before measuring. A turned head cannot be corrected, so symmetry is then marked as not scored instead of guessed.
Proportions
We measure the vertical balance between forehead, mid-face and lower face (the facial thirds), the spacing of your eyes relative to face width, and seven ratios compared with the golden ratio, 1.618. Each is reported separately so you can see which one moved your score.
478-Point Landmark Detection
Our system detects 478 distinct facial landmarks, including the irises. That resolution is what lets the test measure small differences in spacing and proportion that a coarser mesh would miss.
What research suggests
Studies link some facial features to how attractive people are rated, though the effects are modest and vary between studies and cultures.

Where the golden ratio fits
Our Golden Ratio Face Test compares seven facial ratios with 1.618 and reports how close each one comes. The golden ratio is a popular reference point, not a proven rule of beauty.
